Franco Cren is born in 1967 in Zurich in Switzerland. His professional career in the world of dance began in 1990 when he was awarded a scholarship to the dance academy, participating in the "Disco King & Queen dance Competition" and won the title of WORLD CHAMPION in free style (disco dancing) in SPAIN. Today, Franco Cren is an ex professional dancer with academic training in 1990 at the COLOMBO DANCE ACCADEMY in SWITZERLAND in jazz, modern, contemporary, classical, flamenco as well as stretchig and pilates. Further dance studies in Paris at the BALLET CENTER and in Italy, at the JALS DANCE CENTER in Rome and C.S.C. in Milan. He boasts a thirty-year artistic career as a Professional Dancer, Choreographer, Entertainer, Disck Jokey, producer and event organizer, as well as dance teacher and Personal trainer. One of his most prestigious successes is the winning of the EUROPEAN DANCE PRIZE COMPETITION 2000, awarded in section "the best interpretation" with his choreography "SEDUCTION", performed with his own dance troupe, the Dream dancers. He had to abruptly cease his dancing activity in 2004 due to a tragic injury that traumatized his back, hip and knees, while remaining active in other areas of the show. Thus began his hard period and rehabilitation process. To recover his physicality again, he dedicates himself body and soul to the practice and study of specific muscle rehabilitation exercises, making use above all of his profound knowledge acquired in the academy in dance preparation techniques: GRAHAM, LIMON, BALETT , BARRE A TERRE, STRETCH ECERSICE and PILATES. Recovering 100% of his motor skills over time (15 years), Franco Cren, today proposes his METHOD of rehabilitation and muscle strengthening, called BODY EQUILIBRIUM, all over the world, based not only on technical exercise, but also on his personal rehabilitation experience. Based on their skills, trauma or muscular limitations, the exercise must be applied to each one with a personalized dynamism, depth and strength. This particular attention to each individual student by the MAESTRO requires a lot of consultation and the need for time. Even people who have never done dance, who may not even have a talent for fast movement and who do not know how to move to rhythm, can still benefit from dance exercises, which performed slowly, are affordable for anyone. They strengthen the muscles and rebalance the harmony and elegance in posture and movements. Mind, thought, knowledge, awareness .... are a fundamental part of my BODYEQUILIBRIUM lessons. PERSEVERANCE.
It means in Catholic moral theology; Virtue that commits the man/woman to fight for the achievement of good without succumbing to obstacles and without being overcome by fatigue and discouragement. If you start practicing with CONSTANCE and PERSEVERANCE the specific exercises that I teach you in my lessons to strengthen and extend, you will arrive always to a GREAT RESULT. Working the right muscles and acting on the right joints, acting "in lengthening" on some anatomical structures so as to create space to allow a better degree of articular excursion.

How much I tell you (I write)now , must not be taken literally! But try to make your own use of it and adapt this "thought of mine" to your way of training. I START SO: I CONSIDER MYSELF TO MY STUDENTS NOT ONLY A TEACHER, BUT I REPRESENT FOR THEM METAPHORICALLY ALSO; THE EARTH, THE LAND FROM WHICH THEY ARE ABLE TO DECIDE WHICH KIND OF NUTRITION TO EXTRACT, TO IMPROVE THEIR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CONDITION.

My personal experience is that for many years I used my body, "physically" as a professional dancer (23 YEARS) and almost as many years, after my injury, as: person who needs "targeted" physical activity for reasons of muscle rehabilitation (16 YEARS). At one point I ask myself; BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN PERFORMING A MOVEMENT, WHAT IS IT? And it makes no difference whether they are exercises with technically more complex movements in their execution or to perform natural and simple movements. My answer? Here it is.

Metaphorically I see you students "adults over 30/40/50/60" like this: YOUR BODY IS A TREE. My reasoning is, that everything starts from the "seed" from which the tree is born. THE SEED IS YOUR "I". REPRESENTS YOUR THOUGHT AND YOUR SOUL. THE ROOTS, INSTEAD, ARE YOUR BRAIN and YOUR RATIONAL MIND THAT OPERATES YOUR MOVEMENTS. THE TRUNK IS THE BODY and THE BRANCHES ARE YOUR MOVEMENTS. FINALLY, THERE IS FRUIT. IT REPRESENTS THE RESULT OF THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE ON YOUR PHYSICS, YOUR EXERCISES AND YOUR TECHNIQUE. I like to see it like this too: THE MORE RED THE FRUIT, THE HEALTHIER IT IS. (I am smiling, BECAUSE AFTER THE FATIGUE I SEE THE STUDENTS PUPILS WITH RED FACES)

I want you to know, that in my lessons I DONT want you give too much importance to my skill or my physical and technical skills. What really matters to you is your personal "well-being", your constant progress in improvement, whatever it is, lesson by lesson. In dance as in gymnastics, we give each movement a purpose. But the movements of dance go "beyond" those of gymnastics. What i mean? It is my opinion that the difference between doing GYM (pilates, postural, etc, etc) and doing ACADEMIC DANCE EXERCISES is that, that the gymnastic movements are starting from the mind. movements of the dance start from the soul. Those of the dance are performed with harmony and elegance. They are performed in such a way that they can also arouse emotions in the viewer. We give movements "life", we give theme "SOUL".

FOR ME, THIS IS NOT ONLY VALID FOR DANCE MOVEMENTS, IT IS ALSO VALID FOR NATURAL MOVEMENTS YOU MAKE EVERYDAY . BECAUSE I STRONGLY BELIEVE: "THAT WE ARE SOUL". I want to give you a trivial example: When I walk on the street wearing a new elegant suit, I "strut" more. The gait of women who walk on heels instinctively leads them to sway more. I mean by these statements, that simple movement such as "taking steps" can be a movement that arouses emotion in the viewer. Emotions such as; admiration, aesthetic appreciation, interest, envy, embarrassment, etc, etc ... and why not, Joy and Happiness.

I AM CERTAINTY, that being able to "improve one's physical and mental condition" all starts there, from the seed. It is the seed, the thought, our soul, which initiates our well-being. Only later is the "mind" that will activated to be able to move. And when the movement becomes difficult and tiring, always remember why you are doing it. You do it for yourself !!! For this reason, for you to struggle will become a condition of pleasure. When muscles burn, it's PLEASURE. The harder you work, the more pleasure you feel. If you perform the exercise with this "positive" thought, even the most difficult becomes easier and lighter. Training with this attitude will profoundly improve your technique in a very short time.
